The White Hart Charter Alley (3.7m)

Pub-website RG26 5QA SU 594577
About 14 miles from Newbury. Go along the A339 past Kingsclere and take a turning L SP Ewhurst Park 1.5 miles after the end of the three-lane section. Go down this road for 2 miles. Go SO by the church, and the pub is just down the fork to the L, called White Hart Lane.
Now open only on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons - no food at all. To do this walk, park up somewhere else on the route. Nearest lunch spots are the Queens College Arms, Pamber Heath, and the Mole, Monk Sherborne.

Turn L out of the pub and take the FP on the R in 150yds, by the road junction. This is joined by another before reaching a lane, where turn L. In 300yds, turn R at a T junction, then in a few yards turn L up a road and onto a FP at the end. Follow this for 400yds and go L where it meets another FP. This kinks R and skirts a small wood, then L for 300yds to join a metalled road. Turn L for 300yds, under the grid lines, then R into the drive of Ewhurst Park. Take the FP to the L of the bridge and follow this, passing the lake on your R, till you come out onto the etalled lane. Go forward for about 500yds, then take a track or a FP on the L. They join near where the track bears L in some 600yds. Follow the track for another 600yds until a FP diverges slightly to the R and crosses fields, bearing slightly R again and joining another FP, where turn L. The FP becomes a lane, and where this meets a road, go L then R by the church, and about 600yds along to the pub.
