The Vine, Hannington (3.6m)

Pub-website RG26 5TX SU 541553
About 10 miles from Newbury. Go along the A339 past Kingsclere and take a turning R SP Hannington in about 1.5 miles. The Vine is about 2 miles on the L.
A nicely situated pub that has grown over the years. It has been somewhat variable, but now provides good food and beer. CURRENTLY CLOSED WHLE A NEW OWNER IS SOUGHT.

Turn R out of the pub , cross the village green and take the FP to the right of the church. Bear round to the L and follow the track for 600yds, then take a FP bearing slightly R downhill then up to join a farm track, where go R. At the end of the track, cross the metalled lane going L then taking a FP R on the other side that goes slightly uphill, then down towards the White Hill car park. Before reaching this, turn R on another FP that rises towards the TV transmitter. This FP comes out onto a lane, which follow for about 1000yds downhill then up to a T junction. Go L along the lane for 500yds, then take a track R that in 400yds returns you almost to the church (which is worth a visit). It is not far back to the pub.
