About three miles from Newbury, in Woolton Hill just off the A343 to Andover.
Turn R off the A343 at the Milking Bridge crossroads, and turn R again. Shortly after the road bends to the L turn R to find the pub on the L.
Lunchtime opening only at weekends. It has decent draught beer, including London Pride and Greene King's IPA.

Go back along the road, pass the turning down to Milking Bridge, and take the second on the L, Mount Road. In 400yds go R into Pantings Lane, then in a further 250yds take the FP on the R between houses. Follow this down to cross the river, then cross a school sports field slightly L to a stile in the corner. In the next field, go half L again and follow the FP to the end of a track. Go L then shortly R down a drive that comes out in 600yds onto a road. Take the L fork and follow this for 250yds , then a FP to the R that crosses to another road. Go L to East End, and take the FP on the L. Pass Stargroves on the R and meet a track that brings you to the end of a metalled lane. At a crossroads, turn R up the hill then L on a FP at the top. Follow this through fields and woods for 1000yds till you meet a metalled lane. Go L and in 500yds after a bend, take the FP on the L. In 500yds more, this brings you to a corner of Pantings Lane, which follow back to the pub.
