The Mole, Monk Sherborne (4.5m)

(pub-website) RG26 5HS SU 608567
About 15 miles from Newbury. Go along the A339 past Kingsclere and take a turning L SP Ewhurst Park 1.5 miles after the end of the three-lane section. Go down this road for 2 miles. Go SO by the church, R at the next two forks, then about a mile forward to find the Mole on the L.
Thr establishment seems to have been converted into a licenced coffee shop. Perhaps you can park up somewhere on the route, and find beer elsewhere, say at the QCA in Pamber Heath. The White Hart in Charter Alley is not very promising.

Go out of the car park and turn R for 200yds, then go L into Kiln Lane. After passing a small housing estate the lane becomes rough surfaced, then concrete, then muddy, passing round a metal gate before emerging into a field. At the end, go R along a crossing tack and follow this for nearly 1000yds when it kinks R then L into another field. Go R to follow the field boundary uphill for 300yds, then fork L to cross a cultivated field. This FP goes downhill then R, over a small footbridge, then L to reach a metalled lane by a double width metal farm gate. Go R up the lane for some 800yds passing over the crossroads by a church, and in another 150yds take the FP on the R. In 200yds this goes half L, and follow this for 400yds, then go sharp R on another FP to reach a road in a further 500yds. Take the L fork, White Hart Lane, and pass the White Hart, an alternative starting/finishing point for this walk. Shortly turn R in the village, then L for 350yds along Pamber Road. Go R down a bridle path that can be very muddy in wet weather then L to Rawlins Farm and to the R of the paddocks past a row of walnut trees to a wood. Shortly to the R is a footbridge over a stream into the wood, and go forward ignoring a turning to the L and then through more open country till you come out on the road opposite Kiln Lane. Go L for the pub.
