The Badgers Wood Baughurst (4.0m)
Leave the pub towards the village, cross over to Heath End Road, then bear R into Bishopswood Road. In 250 yds, turn R onto a lane with a fairly ancient FP sign (like several on this walk). This soon becomes a FP, which follow for about 600 yds till it comes out on a road. Turn L for 200 yds, then R to a marked FP by a former chapel. In about 100 yds turn L onto another marked FP, which follow through a gate to another gate near a red brick house where the path goes R down a tree-lined path. Follow this between wood-fenced paddocks round several bends through a further gate and over a decrepit stile till in about 600 yds it comes out on a metalled lane. Cross this and take the metalled bridleway opposite which degenerates in 400 yds to a track.Where this bends R, turn L through a gate towards a field and follow the rather hummocky path through a wood to the R hand side of a barbed wire fence until a gate into a lane. Turn R, and R again at a FP sign through a farm gate. The path is first grassy, then wooded, with a stream to the L. Cross a wooden footbridge, the follow along the L hand side of a paddock, through a gate, and then the R hand side of a field till it rises to join the drive of Little Ham Farm. Follow this L to the road, turn R then L up another bridleway. In 150 yds, cross the (broken) stile and follow along the side of the racehorse gallop, veer slightly left and enter the wood at a FP marker. Take the path to the R, and follow this for some 300 yds till it drops to a concrete slab footbridge. Cross this, then take the boardwalk to the R and follow up the hill past a larchlap fence on the R to a road. Turn R then L and follow the track uphill for 400 yds till it meets a road. Turn R for 300 yds to reach the pub.
